Tunnel Surveyor (Pittsburgh)

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently seeking a Tunnel Surveyor to join our team on a Heavy Civil Construction Project in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

-Project: Tunnel Construction Project

-Summary: We are looking for a Tunnel Surveyor with combined field and office experience to support tunnel surveying operations for a major infrastructure project in Pittsburgh. The candidate will participate in both field survey activities and office-related survey processing tasks, supporting the Survey Manager and construction teams throughout the execution of the works. This role is ideal for candidates with tunneling or heavy civil infrastructure experience who are comfortable working in dynamic site environments. 

-Estimated duration of the position: 48 months - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.

-Responsibilities:

• Perform field survey activities for tunnel construction.
• Support tunnel control and layout operations.
• Process survey data and calculations.
• Prepare reports, drawings, and survey documentation.
• Coordinate with field engineers and construction teams.
• Assist with monitoring and as-built surveys.
• Support QA/QC survey procedures.
• Maintain accurate survey records and files. 

-Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9 working hours plus a 1‑hour lunch break. Depending on project needs, it may later transition to rotational shifts.

-Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of surveying experience.
• Tunnel experience preferred.
• Experience in both field and office survey tasks.
• Knowledge of Leica/Trimble equipment.
• Experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD or similar software.
• English level: C1 required.
• Strong teamwork and adaptability.
