Technical Director (Heavy Civil Construction Project)

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently seeking a Technical Director to join our team on a Heavy Civil Construction Project in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

-Project: Tunnel Construction Project

-Summary: The Technical Manager will be responsible for coordinating all technical aspects of the project between the Owner, Designer and Construction Team. This role will oversee design reviews, construction support, technical submittals, engineering coordination, design changes and interface management throughout the project lifecycle.

-Estimated duration of the position: 48 months - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.

-Responsibilities:

• Coordinated with the Design Consultant and Construction Team to ensure alignment between design intent and site execution.
• Reviewed engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation to validate constructability and compliance.
• Managed design changes, technical queries and clarifications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provided engineering solutions and technical guidance to construction teams during execution.
• Coordinated interfaces between TBM, Drill & Blast operations and civil works to ensure seamless integration.
• Led technical meetings with stakeholders, resolving issues and aligning multidisciplinary teams.
• Reviewed RFIs, submittals and technical reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Ensured full compliance with project specifications, standards and contractual requirements.

-Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9 working hours plus a 1‑hour lunch break.- Depends on project demands.

-Requirements:

• A Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Technical Director in tunnel/underground/linear construction projects/ heavy civil or similar.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
