Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a TBM Senior Mechanical Plant Engineer to join our team for a Tunnel Infrastructure Project in Poland (on-site position).


-Project: Large-Scale Tunnel Construction with TBM


-Estimated duration of the position: +24 months -In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.


-Summary


The TBM Senior Mechanical Plant Engineer will be responsible for providing senior-level mechanical technical support for TBM and backup systems. The role focuses on ensuring high equipment availability, efficient maintenance planning, troubleshooting complex failures, and continuously improving machine performance on site.


-Main Responsibilities


  • Provide senior mechanical technical support for TBM and backup systems.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of TBM equipment.
  • Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose faults and perform root cause analysis for complex failures.
  • Optimize machine performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support troubleshooting activities during TBM operations.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams on-site.
  • Ensure proper implementation of maintenance procedures and standards.


-Working hours: 8 hours rotational shifts ( 7/3 7/4 o 7/2/ 7/2 /7/3)- the specific working hours will be defined later in the process.


-Requirements


  • Degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or Technical Diploma.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or plant engineering for heavy machinery or industrial equipment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in TBM projects.
  • Strong knowledge of TBM mechanical systems, including hydraulics, lubrication, and rotating equipment.
  • Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
  • Experience in fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
  • Experience working with EPB and/or Slurry TBMs.
  • English level: C1 (Advanced).
  • Availability to work on-site in Poland.
  • EU work permit required.
